Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Cornerstone ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you access or use Cornerstone, a web-based renovation project management and financial tracking platform available at crnstn.ai, including related pages, features, integrations, and services (collectively, the "Service").
The Service is intended for business use by invited users and project team members. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, that organization may control the project workspace and the information submitted to it.
1. Information we collect
We collect account and profile information, such as name, email address, authentication identifiers, business association, role, and workspace access permissions. Authentication is handled through our authentication provider, and we do not store your password in plain text.
We collect the project and business information you or your organization enter into the Service, including project names, addresses, budgets, draw or reimbursement information, check logs, contractor milestone information, calendar items, team information, deal evaluator inputs and outputs, rough material entries, comments, exports, and similar workspace content.
If you upload documents, we collect and store the uploaded files and related file metadata, such as filename, file type, upload date, and project association.
If you connect QuickBooks Online, we collect and process the information you authorize us to access, such as company identifiers, customer or job names, account or category names, transaction type, transaction date, amount, payee or vendor, memo, check number, and related QuickBooks identifiers needed to map and import project costs.
We also collect technical and usage information, such as device and browser information, IP address, log data, session information, pages viewed, feature usage, errors, and activity events used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
2. How we use information
We use information to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service; authenticate users; manage businesses, projects, teams, and permissions; display and save project data; support document uploads; generate exports and reports; sync authorized QuickBooks Online data; troubleshoot bugs; prevent fraud or misuse; comply with legal obligations; and communicate about the Service.
3. QuickBooks Online data
QuickBooks Online integration is optional. If enabled, we use QuickBooks data only to provide the connected features you request, including company verification, customer or job mapping, project cost import, category grouping, and transaction display inside Cornerstone. We do not sell QuickBooks data. You can disconnect QuickBooks from the Service to stop new QuickBooks imports.
4. How we disclose information
We disclose information to service providers that help us operate the Service, including hosting, database, authentication, storage, analytics, error monitoring, email or communications, and security providers. We may disclose information to third-party integrations you authorize, such as QuickBooks Online, as needed to provide the integration. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate misuse, or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
We do not sell personal information. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly used under California privacy law.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences such as theme settings, protect sessions, operate core features, and understand Service performance. You can adjust browser settings to limit cookies, but some Service features may not work properly without them.
6. Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain business and security records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Your organization may control retention, export, or deletion of project workspace data.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls and cloud infrastructure protections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. California privacy notice
California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of certain personal information, and to limit the use or disclosure of sensitive personal information where applicable. You may also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.
Depending on how your organization uses Cornerstone, we may process information as a service provider or processor on behalf of that organization. In those cases, please direct requests about project workspace data to your organization or workspace administrator. You may also contact us at support@crnstn.ai.
9. Children
The Service is intended for business users and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after an update means you acknowledge the updated Privacy Policy.
11. Contact
Privacy questions or requests may be directed to your Cornerstone workspace administrator or to Cornerstone support at support@crnstn.ai.
